Addison Lee Highlights from the Women in Business & Tech Expo
The Women in Business & Tech Expo at the Excel London brought together passionate professionals, innovators, and leaders, and Addison Lee was thrilled to be part of it. Our sponsorship of the Networking Lounge created a vibrant space where attendees could connect, share insights, and build valuable relationships. With cocktails and conversations flowing, it quickly became a hub for networking across the two-day event.
A Day of Networking and Insightful Discussions
The Networking Lounge was more than just a place to grab a drink—it became a hotspot for conversation, ideas, and inspiration where attendees and speakers could come to relax and mingle.
Our team was excited to meet new faces, share our vision, visit other stands, and enjoy the dynamic atmosphere. The energy was electric as professionals from across the business and tech world gathered to discuss the future of women in the industry.
But the highlight came at 16:20 in the Keynote Theatre, where our very own Head of B2B Experience, Rachel Connolly took to the stage for a panel discussion titled, “Empowering Women in Tech: Finding Your Voice and Making an Impact.”
An Inspirational Panel on Empowering Women in Tech
The panel, hosted by the brilliant Sonya Barlow, featured an extraordinary group of women, including Jane Mustoe, Eugenia Planas, Rebecca Appleyard, and Rachel Connolly from Addison Lee. These inspiring individuals captivated the audience with their personal stories, insights, and valuable lessons from their journeys in the tech industry.
Throughout the session, the panelists explored the importance of defining personal success, highlighting how understanding their own worth in the workplace has been instrumental in their growth. Each speaker offered a unique perspective on how they have used their voices to challenge the status quo, navigate obstacles, and encourage others to do the same. They shared how their unique qualities and strengths have played key roles in advancing their careers and how they’ve fostered a culture of empowerment for other women in tech.
Rachel Connolly’s contribution to the discussion was particularly impactful. She highlighted the importance of understanding your value, which helps define your individual meaning of success. She also spoke about what helps her: including preparation at the end of her workday for the following day, ensuring she starts each morning ready for take off knowing what she needs to achieve, and of course, she mentioned, the power of sleep.
The event reinforced the power of community, connection, and conversation. As we continue to navigate the evolving landscape of business and technology, we are reminded of the importance of creating spaces where all voices can be heard, valued, and celebrated, particularly for females.
Looking Ahead
As Addison Lee reflects on the success of the Women in Business & Tech Expo, we are more committed than ever to supporting diversity and inclusion in the tech space. We look forward to many more events that champion these values and inspire individuals to find their voice, make an impact, and drive change in their industries.
Thank you to everyone who visited the Networking Lounge, attended the panel, and contributed to the vibrant atmosphere at this year’s event. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for women in business and tech!
